Dining Fly
Google Square Ad
You can create
a dining fly to both cook and eat under. Find two trees that are
fairly close together. Tie a rope between the two trees - about
eight feet high. Place your tarp over the rope, leaving about the
same amount of tarp on both sides. *Tie rope to each corner of the
tarp. Run each of the four ropes to the ground and secure them with
tent stakes.

You can experiment
with height as well as with how low the sides will be, depending
on wind and weather conditions. Now you have a place to cook and
eat that is protected from the rain. ALWAYS be sure your camp stove
has proper ventilation, and that it is not near anything that can
overheat and burn.
*If your
tarp does not have holes for rope in each corner, find four small
stones. Place a stone in each corner of the tarp. Tie a knot around
both the stone and the tarp. Neat, huh?
